Our first Trip in the pop up

Kerrville Schreiner State Park

Our first trip in our pop up was to Kerrville-Schreiner SP in Kerrville. After putting a large dent and scratch in the F150 with the pop up, everything else went well. The park was very pleasant with an abundance of deer and it was actually COOL at night . (In mid July?! In Texas?!Unheard of!) The Guadalupe River flows through the camp and there is a shallow swimming area with shade trees and alot of picnic tables. Guests are also able to rent tubes for the river.

The deer almost came up to the camp sites

The deer would come right up the camp sites, as seen above. The park had RV sites with full hookups, tent sites and screened shelters.

McKinney Falls SP

McKinney Falls SP in Austin was our second camp out. The SP was an old homestead belonging to the McKinney family which was deeded to the state of Texas. The ruins of the McKinney home and various other buildings can be visited. It also has a nice visitors' center and a swimming area (seen above) which is tested daily by the state for bacterial levels. There is a playground and hiking and biking trails.

Rob took this photo. Must've been standing at an angle!

Here's the family at McKinney Falls SP. We were able to do a little hiking and exploring . We found the swimming area but didn't get any swimming in before we headed home. Nothing broken, scratched or damaged on this trip. (yey!)
